Fees in three ranges, fixed before the work starts

Three ranges per practice area, each with its price range. The exact price is given to you in writing after the free first contact, before any work starts.

Free written first contact, answer within 24 working hours. To go into detail: a 45-minute scoping call with your documents, €120 excl. VAT, deducted if you instruct me within 30 days.

You know the price before the work starts

The exact price depends on your matter. You receive it in writing after the first contact, which is free, and it does not change afterwards without your agreement.

The firm uses artificial intelligence tools for research and first drafts, under a lawyer's control. The time they save is not billed: it is already reflected in these ranges.

Forty-five minutes to scope the matter, €120 excl. VAT

  • A 45-minute video call, prepaid.

  • A written report in five points within 24 working hours: the problem as you put it, the options, my recommendation, the budget for what follows, the timing.

  • If you instruct me within 30 days, the €120 is deducted from the fee.

What is billed by time

Where a matter does not suit a fixed price, it is billed by time. The quote then carries an estimate and a cap the firm will not exceed without your written agreement.

When the work is billed by time What is written before it starts
Advice, drafting, negotiation and contract review outside a fixed fee An estimate in hours and a fee cap, in the engagement letter
Litigation: proceedings, hearings, urgent measures, mediation A quote and a cap per phase, 100% of the phase paid on account
Legal expenses insurance, insurer paying Written confirmation of cover by the insurer before the file opens
Day assignments: interim in-house lawyer or data protection officer Day rate agreed at scoping, prior engagement letter

Urgent work, weekend work or travel outside Brussels may carry a surcharge; it is always written into the quote before the work starts.

Clients established outside Belgium

A cross-border matter takes more coordination and more checks. Depending on the country of establishment, a coefficient applies to fees, never to retainers; it is written into the engagement letter. Outside the European Union, the payment on account covers the whole instruction.

Cap, payments on account, settlement

On any instruction billed by time, a fee cap is written into the engagement letter. Beyond it, the hours are not billed. I offer it as a matter of course on any hourly quote above €2,000.

The consultation and fixed fees up to €1,500 are prepaid in full. Above €1,500, a fixed fee is 50% on order and the balance on delivery. In litigation, the payment on account covers 100% of the phase engaged.

Payment by bank transfer, Payconiq or card through the invoice link. No cash. Hourly instructions are the subject of monthly interim statements.

What is not included

All amounts are exclusive of VAT. Belgian VAT of 21% is added for clients established in Belgium.

Disbursements and official taxes remain payable by you and are recharged at cost: BOIP and EUIPO filing, opposition and renewal taxes, Madrid system taxes, bailiff fees, court registry and translation costs.
